Shopify fulfillment in Europe: your store, our EU warehouse
To fulfill Shopify orders in Europe, you hold stock with a 3PL inside the EU and connect it to your store. Our warehouse in Gothenburg, Sweden connects to Shopify through a ready-made integration: orders flow in automatically, we pick and pack them, the tracking number is pushed back to the order and stock levels are synced back to your store. You keep selling in Shopify the way you do today.
How does a Shopify store connect to a European 3PL?
Through an integration between your store and our warehouse system. Four things happen – and none of them needs anyone on your team.
Orders flow in automatically
A customer checks out in your Shopify store and the order is sent to our warehouse system automatically. No exports, no spreadsheets, no emails to the warehouse.
We pick & pack
We pick the items, check them and pack the parcel in our warehouse in Gothenburg. DTC orders are picked and packed the same day.
Tracking goes back to the order
The parcel's tracking number is pushed back to the order in Shopify. Nobody on your team copies it across by hand.
Stock levels sync back
Stock levels are synced back to your store from our warehouse system, so the numbers in Shopify follow what is registered in our warehouse.
The stock your store sees starts at receiving: when your bulk shipment arrives, every item is registered by barcode in our warehouse system, Ongoing WMS, and put on a pallet or shelf location. Read more about warehousing and pick & pack.
What do you need to set up?
On the Shopify side, very little: we connect your store and you keep selling. The bigger job is getting your stock into the EU. Some of those steps are yours to take, and we guide you through the customs and VAT parts.
What we do
- Connect your Shopify store to our warehouse system during onboarding.
- Coordinate the customs clearance of your bulk shipment with our customs partners, who can lodge the import declaration on your behalf as your customs agent.
- Receive your goods, register every item by barcode and put it on a location.
- Give you one dedicated contact person who knows your account.
What you do
- Give us the access we need to connect your store.
- Decide which products you want to stock in Europe – it doesn't have to be your whole catalog.
- Get the VAT side ready: selling to consumers from stock in Sweden normally means registering for VAT in Sweden, and brands from the US, Canada, Australia or the UK should plan for a VAT agent approved by the Swedish Tax Agency. We guide you through the setup and can put you in touch with accounting partners – start with our EU VAT guide for non-EU sellers.
- Agree the customs setup and power of attorney with the customs agent before the goods ship. The agent will tell you whether your setup needs your own EORI number.
- Have your own EU responsible person – an EU importer or an authorized representative – in place before the goods ship. Their name, postal address and electronic address go on the product, its packaging, the parcel or an accompanying document, and in your Shopify listings.
- Ship your first bulk shipment to Gothenburg.
What stays the same
- Your Shopify store, your storefront and your checkout.
- Your pricing, your marketing and how you talk to your customers.
- The fulfillment you already run for your home market.

Not on Shopify? WooCommerce, Magento, Centra and custom stacks
Shopify is our ready-made integration. Other platforms and marketplaces connect through the API of our warehouse system. Tell us what you run, and we'll tell you how the connection would look.
WooCommerce, Magento & Centra
Your store sends its orders to our warehouse system through the API. The work on our side is the same: we pick, pack and ship from one stock in Gothenburg.
Headless & custom builds
A headless storefront, your own order management system or an ERP connects via the API as well. Describe how your orders are created today, and we'll look at what the connection needs.
Marketplaces
Selling on marketplaces as well as your own store? Marketplace orders connect via the API and are picked from the same stock as your webshop orders, so you don't split inventory between channels. On the VAT side, a marketplace may account for the VAT on some of your EU sales itself, so check your setup with a tax advisor.
Running US and EU stock side by side
You don't have to move everything to Europe. The principle is simple: stock in Sweden serves your European orders, and your existing setup keeps serving your home market.
At home
Your current warehouse
Keeps shipping to customers in your home market, as it does today. Adding EU stock doesn't change that side of your business.
In the EU
Your stock in Gothenburg
Ships to customers across the EU, with no customs inside the EU. Parcels typically take 1–2 business days to the Nordic EU countries (Sweden, Denmark, Finland), 2–3 to Germany and Benelux, and 3–5 to the rest of the EU.
Why add EU stock at all?
- Since 1 July 2026, parcels worth up to €150 sent directly to EU consumers from outside the EU pay a temporary flat EU customs duty of €3 per item type. Genuine stock imported in bulk and cleared before it is sold is imported under the normal rules instead; goods already sold to individual customers before import don't count as stock – see IOSS explained.
- Returns come back to Gothenburg, where we receive, inspect and restock them, instead of traveling back to a warehouse outside the EU.
- One stock in Sweden covers every EU country you sell to. Weighing other locations? Compare where to fulfill in Europe.
The honest trade-offs
- You manage two stock pools. Replenishment to Europe takes weeks by sea, so reorder before EU stock runs low.
- How orders reach the right warehouse depends on how your store is set up. Tell us about your setup when you ask for a quote.
- Selling from the US? See what changes for you in EU fulfillment for US brands.
Shopify 3PL in the EU: common questions
Do I need a developer to connect my Shopify store?
Not for Shopify. It is a ready-made integration, so we connect your store during onboarding instead of building something new. From then on, orders come in automatically, and tracking numbers and stock levels go back to your store.
Can I keep my US warehouse and add EU fulfillment?
Yes. Your stock in Gothenburg serves orders from the EU, and your existing warehouse or 3PL keeps serving your home market – whether that is the US, Canada, Australia or the UK. How orders are routed between the two depends on how your store is set up, which is worth walking through before you go live.
Can the same stock serve customers in Great Britain, Norway or Switzerland?
It can. Those countries are outside the EU customs union, though, so shipments from our warehouse to them are exports and go through customs. Inside the EU there are no customs on the way.
What happens to returns from European orders?
They come back to our warehouse in Gothenburg instead of traveling back to a warehouse outside the EU. We receive and inspect each return and put approved items back into stock – and since stock levels sync back to your store, restocked items can be sold again.
